This Privacy Policy explains how OneMela ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use OneMela Business OS ("Business OS", "the app") and related online services.
1. Summary
- Local-first: Most day-to-day business data stays on your device.
- Optional cloud: If you register online or enable cloud features, some data is sent to our servers.
- No selling of your business data: We do not sell your operational business records to third parties.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and workspace setup: business name, branch, owner name, email, phone, username, and PIN (stored securely on device; PIN is not stored in plain text).
- Online registration: email verification, account identifiers, and session tokens when you link a workspace to our servers.
- Payments and activation: payment method selection, amounts, references, and proof images you submit for manual activation review.
- Support and contact: information you send when contacting us.
Information collected automatically
- Device information: device identifier, device name, platform, and app version for licensing, sync, and security.
- Usage of online features: sync checkpoints, audit events related to registration, licensing, payments, and sync (not every field change in your local database).
- Website: standard web logs and cookies when you visit onemela.com (see Section 7).
Information stored locally on your device
Operational records—including products, sales, purchases, expenses, stock movements, customers, and backups you create—are stored in local SQLite unless you explicitly use cloud sync. We do not automatically upload all local data without your activation of cloud features.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and improve Business OS
- Register accounts and trusted devices
- Activate licenses and cloud features
- Process manual payment and activation requests
- Operate optional cloud sync and backup when enabled
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who host infrastructure, email delivery, or support tools, under confidentiality obligations
- Administrators who review payment and activation requests
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell your business operational data.
5. Data retention
- Local data: retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Server data: retained while your account or workspace uses online features and as needed for licensing, audit, and legal compliance. You may request information about deletion of server-held data by contacting support.
Backups you export remain your responsibility.
6. Security
We use industry-appropriate measures for data in transit and at rest on our servers. You are responsible for securing your device, PIN, and backup files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Cookies and website
Our marketing website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality (for example detecting an app session cookie when opening the web app). We do not use invasive third-party advertising trackers on the core product surfaces described here.
8. Your choices
- Use Business OS offline without online registration.
- Control cloud sync and backup through your license and settings.
- Export local backups for your own records.
- Contact us to ask questions or request access or correction of account information we hold.
9. Children
Business OS is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).
10. International transfers
If you use online features, data may be processed on servers located outside your country. We take steps to protect data consistent with this policy.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date will change, and continued use after posting constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
