Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OneMela Business OS ("Business OS", "the app", "the service") provided by OneMela ("we", "us", "our"). By using Business OS, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What Business OS is
Business OS is a local-first business operations application for sales, inventory, purchases, expenses, cash sessions, and reporting. Your operational data is stored on your device in a local database. Optional online features—such as account registration, cloud sync, cloud backup, licensing, and payment activation—require internet access and are not required for routine local operations.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. When you create a workspace, you are responsible for the accuracy of business and owner information you provide.
If you register for online access, you are responsible for safeguarding your PIN and device access. You are responsible for activity under your workspace unless caused by our fault.
3. License and plans
Business OS may be offered under different plans, including device-only lifetime use and prepaid cloud plans. Plan features, device limits, and user limits are described at purchase or activation time.
A trial period may be offered when no paid core license is active. Trial expiry is a conversion prompt only—we do not block your access to existing local operational data because a trial or license validation is unavailable.
Cloud features such as sync and cloud backup require an active feature entitlement. If a cloud feature expires or is inactive, local operations continue; only the affected cloud feature is disabled.
4. Payments and activation
Payments for licenses and cloud features are processed manually through supported methods (for example cash, bank transfer, Telebirr, CBE Birr, Chapa, or manual activation by an administrator). We do not charge recurring automatic subscription fees unless explicitly stated for a specific plan.
Payment requests start as pending until reviewed and marked paid. Activation of a license or feature access occurs after successful payment confirmation according to our activation workflow.
Refunds, if any, are handled case by case according to the payment method and activation status. Contact support before assuming a payment is refundable.
5. Your data
Local data. Sales, purchases, expenses, products, stock movements, and related records you create are stored on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device and backup packages you export.
Cloud data. If you enable online registration or cloud sync, copies of selected business data may be transmitted to and stored on our servers to provide those features. You retain ownership of your business content. We process it to operate the service, provide support, and maintain security and audit records as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to bypass license, device, or security controls
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or other users
- Reverse engineer or misuse the software except where permitted by law
We may suspend or restrict server-protected features if these Terms are violated or if required for security or legal compliance. We will not delete your local data on your device through such actions.
7. Availability and changes
Local features are designed to work offline on your device. Online features depend on network and server availability. We may update the app, plans, or these Terms. Material changes will be posted on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
8. Disclaimers
Business OS is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for business decisions made using reports and data in the app.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OneMela is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business opportunity arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected license in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you use a free or trial tier.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. You may export local backups before removing the app. We may terminate or suspend online access for breach of these Terms or abuse of server features. Termination of online access does not remove data already on your device.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory local consumer protections require otherwise.
